The VT Cycling Team is a little different from other sport's teams: there are no tryouts and almost anyone is able to compete throughout the year, making the team atmosphere very inclusive and welcoming to all. There are a few ways to get involved with the team, its a good idea to join our listerv and come out to our weekly meetings!
Get the Emails and Meetings
To get all the important emails, join our Google Group. Go to https://groups.google.com/a/vt.edu/forum/#!topicsearchin/vt_cycling-g/subject$3Acycling, sign in and connect or send vtcyclingteam@gmail.com an email and we will get you added.
Meetings are typically held Mondays at 8pm in War Memorial Gym room 126 and last around 45 minutes to an hour were we discuss weekly plans, rides, upcoming races and events and just talk about bikes in general!

Race Team
Since there are no tryouts, the only requirements to race on our team are that you are a full-time student (even applies to Grad and Doctoral Students) and that you pay dues for the season or discipline you are racing in.
The team has a full MTB, cyclocross and road team, and races near every weekend during the spring and fall (MTB and Cross in the fall with Road in the spring.) Of course, you can come out to as many or as few race weekends as you would like once you have paid dues.
In addition to allowing you to race with the team, paying dues also means you get a discount on our team kit and are able to receive benefits from our great sponsors!
